Well it’s memorial day weekend in Hampton Bays New York, heard reports of great fishing in the Shinecock Canal. I got here Thursday night and finished the canal from 3 o’clock to dusk. I was fishing a black Sligo 7 inch, had a massive hit and fish on for about 30 seconds. After that my wind snap like a twig, it was definitely a big bluefish. Went back on Friday fish for about six hours, “a nice 21 inch fluke. There was lots of bait fish in the canal, saw some stripers hitting top water, but I could not get them to strike my finesse fish or Sluggo’s. I also saw a woman catch a Huge week fish. My kids join me on Saturday and we bottom fished for blowfish and Seabass. It was next action for most of the time but still had a blast! I went down to the beach and was wearing my water tracker for fliprocks, they worked phenomenally well on the sand and rocks. They really stay on your feet, and are super comfortable. Until next time! Tight lines!
